Stainless & glass balustrade install to Huddersfield household

Stainless & glass balustrade install to Huddersfield household

Customer: Mr Hartwell, Huddersfield.

Mr Hartwell had created a very nice modern looking decking area to the rear/side of their property and wanted to have a modern and stylish stainless steel and glazed type of handrail system to finish off and compliment this area.

Mr Hartwell had used Global Walkway Solutions previously through his army surplus and airsoft business, using some of our Pipeclamp products to create some in store clothes racking and we also supplied and arranged installation of a new galvanised staircase to his store. So he contacted Global Walkway Solutions and enquired

We met with Mr Hartwell to discuss the project, based on their requirements, we put forward some ideas utilising our architectural stainless range and offered various options. We offered the choice of with or without tube top rail and tube diameter 42.4mm or 48.3mm to use on the project.

Through this consultation process it was decided that we would use a 42.4mm architectural stainless in grade 316 (outdoor use) and a glass balustrading system with tube/top rail along the front of decking area with return runs either side for safety but also to add extra stability. In addition to this we would also offer an additional section of handrail to go down some adjacent steps again for safety that would match and compliment the main run on the decking area.

We took all necessary measurements and calculated the required materials. We then submitted the quotation to Mr Hartwell which was shortly agreed upon, after which we implemented an agreed plan of action..

Firstly we would issue materials and begin workshop fabrication for the upright posts, rails and all other necessary components.

Swiftly following the preparation work, our team commenced with installation of the upright posts and stainless steel tube/handrailing. Once these were in place we could get the exact sizes required for the glass infill panels, the glass could now be ordered for manufacture.

Just over a week later, once the glass was manufactured, the installation team returned to site to fit the glass using glass clamps and complete the installation.

Mr Hartwell was delighted with the end result and have commented that he has planning permission passed to build an extension to the other side of his house. Which he intends to have another similar raised decking area and due to our high quality products, fast and professional service he will definitely come to us again to supply some more stainless and glass balustrading system for this new area once it’s ready.
